Shopping in Houston is basically amazing
I adore Houston for many reasons, the people, the food, the sunny weather, and the shopping stacks up too.

Best vintage resale: Buffalo Exchange
I once got a Saint Laurent vintage red wool blazer for $20 - I saw similar pieces recently in Paris for upwards of 300€ - and have seen labels like Rachel Comey, Equipment, and even Isabel Marant there for amazing prices. The shoes pictured were brand new in the box and purchased for $35, down from almost $300. (Chiara Ferragni collection.)
Best thrift store: Charity Guild of Catholic Women
This thrift store is pretty well organized, but you still need to spend a bit of time navigating all the different sections. This is where I come to find one of a kind pieces like this silk ensemble I scored for $25, and I've seen cashmere sweaters here for a little at $7 a pop.
Best shoes: Kick Pleat
Actually everything in Kick Pleat is pretty awesome, but I always associate them with shoes since buying my beloved Mars mules by Rachel Comey there. Other favorite designers of mine in stock at Kick Pleat are Robert Clergerie, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, MM6 by Martin Margiela.
Best handbags: Tootsies
They only carry the cream of the crop. This is where you go to spend some serious money, and I'm pretty sure they're the only place in Houston you'll the coveted Mansur Gavriel bucket bag which is otherwise sold out all over the place. (A tip for all your NYC shoppers out there!!)
Best vintage furniture: Guild Shop
When Norman and I were decorating our place for our short lived stint in Houston, this was our go-to shop. They routinely had an interesting selection of Mid-Century furniture like these cute nesting tables.

Best guilty pleasure: Nordstrom Rack
Lest I give away all the secrets of my wardrobe, I've been very successful at Nordstrom Rack. From a trio of Cosabella undies for just ONE CENT to my Isabel Marant wedge sneakers, to my Sophie Hulme saddle bag - and this is just a small sample of the many deals I've found there - the Rack is my favorite place to pick up discounted designer goodies. Labels like MSGM, Current/Elliott, Equipment, Vince, Rag and Bone and many many many many more......
*Just so they don't feel left out:
Best menswear: Reserve Supply Company
Go here for a great selection of understated basics for your guy with classic labels like Levis, Converse, and Pendleton, as well as an interesting array of grooming products.
